ERIN’S STORY
Erin was born in Hamilton, Ontario and grew up in the small town of Caledonia before moving to the smaller town of Hagersville. Erin loved swimming growing up and was often referred to as a ‘fish’ while swimming in her backyard pool. She also played the piano from a young age and loved music throughout school. She was very involved in high school and was a member of the Jazz Band, newspaper staff and participated in many of the school plays/musicals. She attended Brock University for Child and Youth Studies so she could become a teacher, but after a year and a half changed her mind and switched to Linguistics - Communication Disorders. This would lead her to a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. She loved having a completely different "college" experience including football and tailgating. She currently works with children as a speech-language pathologist in Georgetown, Ontario. She loves spending time with her friends and family, drinking wine, scrapbooking, spending time outdoors and photography.

WALLY’S STORY

Wally was born in Hamilton, Ontario as well and started his life in Stoney Creek before moving to the metropolis of Townsend. He enjoyed playing lots of sports while growing up including hockey and baseball. His love of computers started young as you could often find him playing computer games down in the basement. This interest led him to start an Engineering Degree at McMaster University, where he met a lot of great friends, many who will be involved in the wedding. After the first year Wally decided to switch to a program at Mohawk College for Software Engineering. He now works at GrantStream Inc in Oakville, Ontario as a software developer. He enjoys rock climbing, running, camping, BBQs and he still plays around with computers!!

OUR STORY

We knew of each other since grade eight when our schools combined before high school, but didn’t start "going out" until grade eleven. Our relationship started out very innocently with friends exchanging information about the other and making sure each party liked each other. Erin made the initial move because Wally was one of the shyest guys in school (now she can’t shut him up!). They spent lots of time together over the next 2 and a half years of high school working on school projects, watching endless movies and playing/watching hockey and baseball. They went to different universities but stayed together through it all. Lots of phone calls, MSN and many km’s on Wally’s car made it easier. After Erin completed her Masters they moved in together and are currently living in Burlington.

THE PROPOSAL

After nine years many people were wondering when we would finally get engaged! Even though Erin figured it was coming, Wally still managed to surprise her. They were up late one night packing for a trip to Nanaimo, BC to visit Erin’s parents. Wally knew that Erin wanted her parents to be the first to know so after they had finished packing and were getting ready for bed Wally knew that now was the time. When Erin walked in the room it was decorated with candles and music was playing. Wally was standing by the window acting "weird," eventually he came over, got down on one knee and popped the question. After many "are you kidding me’s?" from Erin she said yes, they popped a bottle of champagne and the rest is history!
